Hail Mary

I love the 16mm fisheye for the sole reason that you can hail mary it and come away with an important image. The crowd came down to the field last night and surrounded the players, and it was almost impossible to get to them. The Stanford President John Hennessy was leading the crowd in song with Richard Sherman. The crowd and another photographer were blocking me from a clear shot, so I threw on the 16mm, and went over the top of everyone. It’s also great to be able to cover a game with such a great photographer as Don Feria. It frees you up to relax a bit and look for images, rather than always thinking about the shots you have to get. While I was over shooting the singing, Don’s off making images like this one.
