25 Second Exposure

I was surfing Huntington Pier on Dec 30th during a break in the weather and the light was incredible. The sun was shining, we had a slight offshore breeze and it felt like Summer. The Pier was lit up, with dark clouds behind it, and I was torn between trying to catch a few more waves, or getting out and shooting. The waves won, and by the time I got out and changed, the clouds had rolled in and winds started to pick up.  So, I thought this would be a good chance to break out the Big Stopper Lee Filter, http://www.leefilters.com/index.php/camera/bigstopper, and work on some long exposures. 

I was able to shoot this at 25 seconds which created this moody, dreamy look. I'm not sure if I like the color or the BW better, but, I was super happy with the results, and I could see a series of these types of images in my future......
