Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This Elm tree at Cooks Meadows in Yosemite is one of the most photographed trees in the valley. It’s in a perfect spot for sunrise images and producing the starburst effect. This one is made after a Spring snow storm during one of my Stanford Continuing Studies workshops. Two days before, it was 60 degrees and we were wearing shorts! One of the sessions of the Sierra’s is to always be prepared for all conditions.
